Hanging up my green apron after 12 years!!!

This month of April has completely flown by, and I have some BIG NEWS!!! I gave my notice at Starbucks last week, and Mollie (my store manager) and I have tentatively set June 15th as my last day. My 12-year anniversary with Starbucks will be on June 14th, so I want to make it to that anniversary, then hang up my green apron! I've had an amazing dozen years with Starbucks, and have so many emotional memories tied to the company. I met Brian on the front porch of the Kenmore Drive-Thru Starbucks back on July 23rd, 2001, and almost 9 years of marriage and 2 kids later, we're enjoying a fabulous life together. I'm excited to be getting my weekends back so that I can spend some quality time AS A FAMILY. For the last 2 1/2 years, Brian and I have been "tag-team" parents, passing the kids off as the other headed to work. Our kids need to have more time with both of us simultaneously, so that we can do some fun things together as a family of four. I'll be transitioning my focus to my growing AdvoCare organization. My team's momentum is great, and I'm helping some amazing people get some incredible results. My desire to find something I'm passionate about doing for a living has been met; I'm thrilled to join up with AdvoCare, because this is a company whose core values align with mine. The company's goal is to help people look, feel and perform better, and for those who choose to take on the business, they want people to have financial freedom, time freedom and to be able to live life on their own terms, whatever those terms may be. I'm looking forward to my weekends with Brian and the kids, to waking up to the kids crawling in bed with us instead of to an alarm going off at 4:44am so that I can arrive on time for my 5:30am-2pm shift in the coffee shop! More on this later, but wanted to post this update! Janene

Wow! Good for you. My alarm goes of at 4:55 - but only until Andrew starts kindergarten - then I move my hours to 9 - 2 (can't wait!). Anyway, enough about me - yay for you! You'll have my continued business about once a month... : ) I'm hooked on Spark. I love everything about it. I even have a friend who plans to get some. And. I had my doctor look at it and it was doctor approved which makes it even better. PS. Don't forget to update your blog again... : )

Things That Annoy Baristas (at least THIS one!)

Any soy beverage ordered extra hot and without foam. That is damn near impossible! If you even look at soy it begins to get frothy. Again, you can order whatever you'd like, just know that this is annoying and there isn't a barista alive that would LOVE to make this beverage.
Do not order a cheeseburger and/or fries thru the Starbucks drive-thru. You think you're being clever. We think you're a tool.
At a drive-thru Starbucks (or any drive-thru, for that matter, but I've only worked at Starbucks so that's what I'll speak to), please have some method of payment ready when you get to the window. You get to the window, complain about how slow the line was, then attempt to locate your wallet so you can pay. You've had 3-5 minutes to do this on the way to the window. Why do you think the line's slow? Because of idiots like you.
When a car approaches the speaker in the drive-thru to order and immediately shouts, "Hello?" Give us a chance to greet you. Starting off like that makes us want to give you decaf.
